Founded in 1850, The Most Ancient and Most Noble The Order of Purple is a secret society located at the University of Durham. The rituals of the organisation are believed to encompass elaborate drinking, dining and ceremonial activities and the aims of the Order are described as being "to encourage the advancement of members in life". The Order is believed to have many rich and powerful members and still continues to flourish to this day.
