The Notebook is a love story by Nicholas Sparks. The film version was released June 25, 2004. It stars James Garner, Ryan Gosling, and Rachel McAdams, and Gena Rowlands, and is directed by her son, Nick Cassavetes.

The Notebook is a story about two star-crossed lovers. It tells of the young romance between Noah, a lumberyard worker, and Allie, the daughter of a wealthy family. Allie's family never approved of Noah and they were seperated by distance and time. Years later their paths cross again in this romantic story about love and destiny.
