The Salton Sea is a 2002 film, directed by D. J. Caruso and written by Tony Gayton. It stars Val Kilmer, Peter Sarsgaard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Doug Hutchinson, Adam Goldberg, Luis Guzman, and Deborah Kara Unger. The dreamlike and surreal film is set around a man (Val Kilmer) who apparently has lost himself among speed freaks in Los Angeles after his wife is murdered. But there is much more to it. As Val Kilmer's character asks himself, "Who am I ?"
