The Storm is the name used by an occult society claiming to be the vanguard of the International Sethian movement, and also claiming to follow a more authentic version of the religion of Seth and the Left Hand Path, than the Temple of Set.
History
The Temple of Set is the organization that The Storm broke away from in 2002. Along with high-ranking members like Zeena Schreck (the High Priestess at the time of the schism) and her husband Nickolas Shreck, several members making up several sub-groups of the Temple of Set, departed from that organization in order to found The Storm, claiming bureaucratic as well as theological reasons for the schism.
The Storm group attempts to distinguish itself from its parent group, much like the Temple of Set attempts to distinguish itself from its parent group (the Church of Satan) by claiming that they are the authentic representation of the entity known progressively as Satan, Set, and now finally, Seth.
In each case, by leaving the parent organization the new groups claims to be in possession of the authentic system of belief and worship, which the previous parent organization failed to either recognize or uphold.
Philosophy
While the Storm group distances itself from the Temple of Set, there are some similarities concerning their philosophy.
The differences between the Temple of Set and The Storm appear to be more along the lines of aesthetics with the Temple of Set portraying a more academic or philosophic image, while the Storm group represents a more abrasive form of neo-Satanism employing shock tactics as well as esoteric eastern philosophy and initiation through sexual exploration.
For further discussion of these similarities, see Setianism.
See the Storm site (http://www.voiceofthestorm.com/) for details regarding specific philosophies and practices of that group - which is currently beyond the scope of this article.
