The Sword of the Lord is a newspaper promoting the views of the fundamentalist movement within American Christianity. It was started in 1934 by Dr. John R. Rice, who remained the publisher until his death on December 29, 1980. Dr. Curtis Hutson was the editor and publisher from 1980 until his death in 1995. Today, the newspaper continues publication under the editorship of Dr. Shelton Smith.

The Sword of the Lord began publication in Dallas in 1934, moved to Wheaton, Illinois in 1940, and then to its present location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1963.

Under the leadership of Dr. Curtis Hutson and Dr. Shelton Smith, The Sword of the Lord has become closely associated with and identified with the Independent Baptist movement, and with the King-James-Only Movement.
