The Wrights - Definition and Overview

The Wrights are a Australian rock music "supergroup", consisting of Nic Cester (of Jet), Kram (of Spiderbait), Chris Cheney (of The Living End), Davey Lane (of You Am I and The Pictures) & Pat Bourke (of Dallas Crane). They are named after Australian music legend and former Easybeats frontman Stevie Wright.

Their first single is a cover version of Stevie Wright's song "Evie", which is now a trilogy consisting of three parts. The first part was first performed at the ARIA awards in 2004. They performed the whole trilogy live for the first time at the Sydney Cricket Ground, and it will be released in February 2005. For part one, Nic Cester is the vocalist, while for parts two and three there were special guest vocalists, and they were Bernard Fanning of Powderfinger (part 2) and Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon (part 3 - "I'm Losing You"). The profits for the single will be donated to Stevie Wright and the Salvation Army to improve drug and alcohol rehabilitation, as well as the Red Cross, due to the tragic tsunami.
