Thermae Bath Spa is a multimillion pound development project in the city of Bath in England. A large income for the city is its famous Roman Baths which cannot be bathed in due to the original Roman lead pipes through which the water flows. As such, the Thermae Bath Spa project was launched to allow tourists and residents to experience the natural spring waters.
Sadly, the project's deadline and budget has numerously been overshot due to various unforeseen events. According to the local council, Bath and North East Somerset, the original budget of £13.5 million will rise to £35.7 million, largely due to legal dispute with contractors. Further, the wrong paint was applied to the complex which soon peeled and cost a further £4 million.
As yet the opening date of the complex is unknown, but it is not expected to be until 2005.
