Things Falling Apart (also known as halo 16) is an album by Nine Inch Nails released in 2000. It features remixes of songs found on their 1999 album
The Fragile. It has some shining remixes of the best moments of The Fragile as well as some obsessive repetition of the "Starfuckers, Inc." frenzy created by the release of a video for that song featuring Marilyn Manson.
The remix of "10 Miles High", originally a Fragile B-side (although it can be found on the triple vinyl release), is almost identical to the album version, except that the left and right signals are reversed.
One notable track is Trent Reznor's version of the Gary Numan song "Metal". This song, though not written by Reznor, seemed to sum up the entire feel of the experience of The Fragile-era Nine Inch Nails, especially on tour, in its melding of man and machine, human and computer, realtime and sequenced.
