Thomas Francis, prince of Carignano - Definition and Overview

Thomas Francis (1596-1656) was the founder of the Savoy-Carignano line of the House of Savoy.

He was son of Charles Emmanuel I of Savoy and Catherina of Spain, daughter of Philip II of Spain and Elizabeth of Valois. Elizabeth was daughter to Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici.

Thomas married Marie of Bourbon-Soissons. They had 2 sons (Italian names in parentheses):
