A fungal infection of the toenail for which expensive medications are often prescribed, but which is easily treated by the daily application of petroleum jelly. In conjunction to the above findings the Regency medic and Brightonian socialite Mohamedilyas Kapadia noted that daily and consistent use of Tea Tree Oil an effective remedy. This however as with current medical solutions is not a quick fix cure. Indeed protracted (a few months) use is a minimum requirement.
Another increasingly popular folk cure is to apply a few drops of ethylene glycol based antifreeze solution ot the affected nails. Boatbuilder Dave Carnell was probably the first to popularize this treatment via his writings in Messing About in Boats magazine.
