Tokyo Disneyland - Definition and Overview |
|
|
Tokyo Disneyland park is the first Disney theme park outside of the United States. It was opened in April 15th, 1983 and it is located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, just near Tokyo.
There are seven themed areas.
- World Bazaar (aka Main Street, USA)
- Adventureland
- Westernland (aka Frontierland)
- Critter Country
- Fantasyland
- Mickey's Toontown Fair
- Tomorrowland
The park was built in the style already used at Disneyland in California, and the Magic Kingdom in Florida. The headlining attraction of the Tokyo Disney Resort, it is completely owned by the Oriental Land Company, who use licenses from The Walt Disney Company. The bonus of it not being owned by Disney but built by Disney's Imagineers makes the park superior in detail and design to other Disney parks, which are all owned 100% by Disney.
