Tony Blundetto - Definition and Overview

Tony Blundetto, played by Steve Buscemi, the cousin of mob boss Tony Soprano in the fictional HBO TV series, The Sopranos. He joined the cast in the fifth season.

Tony Blundetto and Tony Soprano grew up together and were close childhood friends. Blundetto was a growing force in the mob until the early 1990s when he was arrested and spent 15 years in prison. After he was released on parole, "Tony B." initially decided not to return to his previous life as a gangster and decided to go straight and become a licensed massage therapist. However, after unsuccessfully attempting to open a legitimate massage parlor, he returned to a life in the mob after joining Little Carmine in his turf war with Johnny Sack. Blundetto's out-of-control behavior sparked the ire of Johnny Sack's crew and threats of revenge against the Soprano family. To appease relations with Sack, Tony Soprano killed his cousin with two shotgun blasts to the chest.
