Tony Lochhead (born January 12, 1982 in Tauranga, New Zealand) is a Kiwi soccer defender, who currently plays for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.
Lochhead came to America to play college soccer for UC Santa Barbara in 2001. Lochhead would play for the Gauchos from 2001 to 2004, starting all 83 games he played, and setting a school record for minutes. Lochhead was named first-team All-Big West in 2003, and was a second team All-American and the Big West Defensive Player of the Year in 2004. As a senior, Lochhead helped lead Santa Barbara to the NCAA Championship, where the Gauchos lost to Indiana on penalty kicks.
Following his career at Santa Barbara, Lochhead was drafted 33rd overall in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by the Revolution.
Lochhead is a promising player for the New Zealand national football team, and has started every match for the team during 2006 World Cup Qualifying.
