Toyooka, Hyogo - Definition and Overview

Toyooka (豊岡市; -shi) is a city located in the northern part of Hyogo, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 46,777 and the density of 288.12 persons per km². The total area is 162.35 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1950.

Saninhonsen (Sanin line) serves it as the railroad traffics to Kyoto. Via Fukuchiyama it connects to Osaka, too.

As of 2004 it negociates the unification with its neighbor 6 towns, including Tateno.
