Toyota Highlander - Definition and Overview

The Toyota Highlander (called Kluger in Japan and Australia) is a model of SUV (a type of automobile) assembled by Toyota Motor Corp. under the Toyota brand name. Initially, the Highlander was a regular SUV driven by internal combustion engine, but later Toyota introduced a hybrid version, the Highlander Hybrid at the 2004 North American International Auto Show. Toyota plans to offer the Highlander Hybrid to the public in early 2005.

The Highlander is reportedly based off the Toyota Camry platform.

The Highlander was Car and Driver magazine's Best Large SUV for 2001.
