  • Tran is the name of a computer programmer who was a member of the American demoscene group, Renaissance.
  • Trần (陳) is a Vietnamese surname. In frequency, it is second only to Nguyen as the most common surname from Vietnam. It is the Vietnamese version of Chan.
  • Trần (陳朝) also refers to the Tran Dynasty, who ruled Viet Nam (at that time was Dai Viet) from 1225 to 1400. They are credited to the 3-time victory over the Mongol Invansion that ended with a decisive victory in the Bach Dang River.
