Tri-Ace - Definition and Overview |
|
- The title given to this article is incorrect due to technical limitations. The correct title is tri-Ace.
Formed in 1995 by Jun Asanuma and Yoshiharu Gotanda, tri-Ace is a Japanese video game developer. Currently their games are published by Square Enix (originally Enix). The group exclusively makes computer RPGs, and is known for giving their games action-packed battle systems and deep skill systems. They have made the Star Ocean series and the game Valkyrie Profile.
The founders of tri-Ace originally worked for Namco's Wolf Team, and had created Tales of Phantasia, a game which in several ways is a precursor to the Star Ocean games; i.e. an action battle system where the player controls one character and AI controls others in the party and special battle skills that the player can assign to different buttons.
