Trinity (Matrix character) - Definition and Overview

Trinity is a fictional character in The Matrix universe, played by actress Carrie-Anne Moss in the films The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

Prior to her "awakening," she is a hacker who was infamous for hacking the Internal Revenue Service database. She is brought together with Neo, by The Oracle, due to the Oracle's prediction that Trinity would fall in love with the One. Neo, initially unaware of this prediction, succeeds in transcending the fabricated world that is the Matrix after the prophecy is fulfilled. Neo and Trinity become lovers, but Trinity is killed in the crash of a ship she was piloting just before Neo's triumph over Agent Smith.
