Trishul - Definition and Overview

A trishul is a type of traditional trident in some parts of India, seen as part of traditional religion, but which can also be used as a lethal weapon. This is the weapon yielded by Hindu God, Lord Shiva

Trishuls have been systematically distributed to followers of the VHP during the 1990s and the beginning of the 21st century [1] (http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/2003/05/28/stories/2003052803241200.htm).

Trishul is also the name of a Surface to Air missile under development (IGMDP) in India. See Trishul (missile).


Trishul is a 1978 Hindi film directed by Yash Chopra and produced by Gulshan Rai. It stars Amitabh Bachchan.
