Trojane - Definition

Trojane (Latin Atrans), is a town in Central Slovenia. It lies on the hill near the border of two Slovene regions Carniola (Kranjska) and Styria (Štajerska).

Ancient Romans have built a Roman road spanning Aquileia-Emona-Atrans-Celeia. This was a very important road, military, post and market place, and the town was surrounded by a defensive wall.
