Twentieth Century Limited - Definition and Overview

The 20th Century Limited was a passenger train operated by the New York Central (NYC) railroad. The train was operated between New York, NY and Chicago, IL as a first-class train. The NYC inaugurated this train as direct competition to the Pennsylvania Railroad's Broadway Limited.

• June 15 1902: The 20th Century Limited is inaugurated.
• December 3 1967: The 20th Century Limited is discontinued just before the merger of the New York Central and the Pennsylvania Railroad to form the Penn Central.
