Typhoon Lagoon is a large water park within Walt Disney World, a sprawling resort complex.
The park has been open since about 1986, and it is home to the world's largest outdoor wave pool. The theme of the park is that a typhoon came through and tossed ships and fishing nets, etc., all over the formerly pristine "island" that the park is supposed to be. The centerpiece of the park is "Miss Tilly", a shrimp boat lodged on the top of a manmade geyser that erupts water every ten minutes or so. Some consider it a great relaxing place, good for smaller children and romantic getaways.
