The USB Flash Drive Alliance, founded in December 2003 by
Samsung, Lexar Media, Kingston Technology and others, is
promoting the use of USB flash drives (also called keydrives).
According to the alliance, USB flash drives have been sold 50 million times
in 2003 in the USA alone.
