It has around 3,500 students in six faculties: Liberal Arts, Agriculture, Engineering, Science, Management Science and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Management Science faculty has an additional campus in Roi Et province.

The university has students from all over Thailand, but most of its students are from the Isan region, and from the south and east of Isan in particular.
