Sakura, default ghost of the Ukagaka program Materia
Ukagaka (J. 伺か) is a catch-all term for several Japanese software programs which share a single format and function; to provide mascot characters for your computer desktop. These mascot characters (called 'ghosts') can perform some useful functions, such as opening oft-visited websites and checking mail, but are most popular as an aesthetic add-on.
Ghosts are typically cute anime girls of original design as seen in the sample screenshot, accompianied by a small monster or pet of some sort. However, a variety of other subjects exist on the sidelines, from video game characters to 2ch memes to Hitler.
