Underbrush - Definition and Overview |
Underbrush is a term used to describe the low shrubs and young trees that grow on the floor of a forest. The more proper term for this plant growth is understory, in as much as it may or may not contain "brush".
The underbrush provides vital food and habitat for many woodland animals.
