Uninvited is a song by Alanis Morissette. Released in 1998 as apart of the City of Angels soundtrack, "Uninvited" was Morissette's first new material since her breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill. Morissette wrote the words and the music to the song by herself, and co-produced this hit. Musically, the song is driven by four piano chords, building up to an intense, powerful, unexpectedly gripping instrumental climax. Morissette's voice soars throughout the song. "Uninvited" was Morissette's second number-one single, after "Head Over Feet". It spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Uninvited also appears in Morissette's MTV Unplugged album, as the last song of the set.
