United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is an agency of the United Nations with the mission of helping countries pursue sustainable industrial development, it is a specialist in industrial affairs.

It works largely in developing countries, with governments, business associations and individual companies to solve industrial problems based on the 3 Es - competitive Economy; sound Environment; and productive Employment.

UNIDO was established in 1966 with headquarters in Vienna and became a specialized agency of the United Nations in 1985, 171 states are current members. Its 2000-01 budget is US$133m.
