This is a list of universities and academic institutions in Sweden. The Swedish educational system, concerning higher education, is divided between general and professional academic institutions, which respectively award general academic degrees or professional degrees.
General Academic Institutions

University Colleges (Högskolor)
University colleges are not generally permitted to award degrees higher than Master's. These University Collages have no authority to Award PhD degrees
