The University of Canberra, or UC, is primarily located in Canberra, the capital of Australia, near the Belconnen Town Centre. The university has two campuses, one in Bruce, Canberra, and the other, established in 2002, in Brisbane. The Brisbane campus, however, is destined to be phased out beginning in Semester 1, 2005.

UC was founded in 1967 as the Canberra College of Advanced Education (CCAE), and accredited as a university in 1990, the same year as Charles Sturt University (CSU) and the University of Notre Dame Australia (UND).

It is smaller than the Australian National University, with an enrollment of about 10,000 students. Other Canberra universities include the Australian Catholic University and the Australian Defence Force Academy.
