University of Wisconsin-River Falls - Definition and Overview

University of Wisconsin-River Falls is the branch of the University of Wisconsin, that is in River Falls, Wisconsin. It serves approximately 6000 students. The university consists of a main campus and two laboratory farms.

Their sports teams are nicknamed the Falcons, and the school colors are red and white. They are in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and play in the NCAA Division III.

Its athletic facilities are used by the Kansas City Chiefs for their summer training camp. The Chiefs often scrimmage the Minnesota Vikings in River Falls once during the summer.

It was founded as "The River Falls Normal School" in 1874, to train teachers.
