Uzhhorod (Ukrainian: and Russian: Ужгород, Hungarian: Ungvár, Slovak and Czech: Užhorod, German: Ungwar, Yiddish: Ungvir, Ingver, Yngvyr) is a city in Ukraine, at the border with Slovakia. Uzhhorod is the capital of the Zakarpattya region, the westernmost region of Ukraine.
The city gets its name from the Uzh River which flows through the city center. Uzh being the name of the river and horod being the Ukrainian for city.
Population is 111,300 (2004).
