The VF-32 Swordsmen is a U.S. Navy fighter squadron stationed at NAS Oceana. Their call sign is Gypsy, tail code is AC, and they fly the F-14 Tomcat.

History
The squadron was first established as VBF-3 in 1945. Three years later, the squadron was re-designated VF-32. In 1950, VF-32 deployed in support of the Korean Conflict, flying F4U Corsairs.
After Korea, VF-32 began flying the F9F Cougar, followed by the F8U Crusader, becoming the first supersonic squadron at that time.
In 1965 the squadron began flying the F-4 Phantom II. In 1974, the squadron transitioned to the F-14.
The squadron, aboard the USS Independence, provided photo intelligence in support of forces in Grenada and Lebanon.
On January 4, 1989, Swordsmen shot down two hostile Libyan MiGs. Years later, the squadron was again in the Persian Gulf region, flyingin support of Operation Southern Watch.
