VM Motori s.p.a. is a manufacturing company in Cento, Italy. The company specializes in Diesel piston engines and has been manufacturing these since 1947. Today, the company is owned by Penske Corporation (which makes it part-owned by DaimlerChrysler) and produces Diesel engines for a variety of auto makers.

Jeep chose VM Motor's 2.8 L common-rail turbo Diesel for the Liberty CRD.
