VW Caddy - Definition and Overview

The VW Caddy is a light pickup truck and van based on the VW Golf hatchback. It has been through several generations with the hatchback model. The mechanicals are shared with the other Volkswagen A platform cars. It was also known in North America as the "VW Rabbit Sportruck", which competed with other mini-pickups such as the Ford Courier of that time. The Caddy is sold across most of the world, including Europe and North America. They are still (in 2004) produced in South Africa.
