A type of extreme CPU (central processing unit) cooling, in which a refrigeration unit (compressor > condenser > evaporator (goes on cpu) > return) is used to cool the processor to negative temperature ranges. Essentially a freezer for your computer's processor.
Why? Because when you cool a processor to such cold temperatures, you can run the processor at speeds well beyond spec. (this is a practice know as 'overclocking'). Because as a cpu speeds up, it usually needs more voltage to run at said increased speed, and more voltage results in an increased heat output. Normal CPU cooling methods cannot cope with this additional heat, so a more complex heat-removal system is necessary to reach high speeds.
The name "vapochill" itself is the name of a product manufactured by Asetek which is the current dominant form of cpu refrigeration.
