A vibraslap is a percussion instrument consisting of a piece of stiff bent wire joining a loosely connected piece of wood to a firmly attached ball. When the ball is struck by the player, the wood vibrates causing a distinctive rattling sound.
The instrument is the modern descendant of the jawbone (instrument).
