History

The Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League is a anti-communist organization that was established in 1994, by its founder Prince Nguyen Phuc Buu Chanh, who was exiled from the communist nation of Vietnam, because of his political views of democracy after 1975.

It is a U.S.-based organization dedicated to promoting the replacement of the current communist government of Vietnam with a constitutional monarchy led by the Nguyen Dynasty. The League's position is that Emperor Bao Dai was the last legitimate ruler of Vietnam.

Politics

The Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League members consist of former officials of the South Vietnamese government, religious figures, and Vietnamese exiles from the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.

The League has has contacts with royal family members in Vietnam, that have been organizing grassroot efforts for years to spread and unify the people in Vietnam to politically pressure the government of Vietnam for a dual party system that would guarantee equal treatment for all citizens regardless of political party, religion or ethnicity.

The Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League believes in politically pressuring the Communist government of Vietnam to reach it goals so the Vietnamese people would have the opportunity to choose a Constitutional Monarchy government in an election. This is unlike the Government of Free Vietnam, another Vietnamese expatriate organization that violates the U.S. Neutrality Act, by applying military force to remove the communist government of Vietnam.

Economy

The Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League has a budget consisting of donations from exiled Vietnamese exiles from the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.
