Vixen was an American rock and roll band that was formed in 1980 by Jan Kuehnemund. The band is notable for being one of the first (and few) all-female heavy metal bands.

Vixen's first album went gold in 1989.

Hit songs by Vixen include "Edge Of A Broken Heart" and "Cryin'".

Vixen was often criticized for having too much of a pop sound.

Creative differences caused the band's breakup in 1991.

Band members Janet Gardner and Roxy Petrucci attempted to re-form the band in 1998, but were sued for copyright infringement by Kuehnemund.
