Vrbas - Definition and Overview

Vrbas is a river in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a tributary of the Sava River. The town of Banja Luka is located on the river banks. This was also the name of one of the banovine of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.


Vrbas (Врбас, Hungarian: Verbász) is also a city located in Serbia and Montenegro at 45.57° North, 19.65° East. Its name stems from word "Willow" in Serbian language. In 2002 the city had a total population of 25,887.
