Vulcanalia - Definition and Overview

Vulcanalia was a festival in ancient Rome held on August 23 each year in honor of the Roman god Vulcan. The streets of Rome were illuminated, fires kindled every where, and animals thrown into the flames as a sacrifice to the deity.
