A "vurp" is a belch in where a slight amount of stomach acid brought up into the mouth with a belch, creating a taste similar to that of vomit. The term is obviously derived from compounding the portions of the words "vomit" and "burp". The causes of this can be attributed to a number of conditions and activities, including heartburn, GERD, physical activity, the drinking of carbonated beverages or alcohol, or sometimes for no clear or significant reason at all. |
