The walrus style of moustache is one of enduring popularity, having been worn by everyone from the Archduke Franz Ferdinand to Emiliano Zapata to Mark Twain. It is bushy, thick, and droops down over the upper lip, typically curling up towards the ends. Like a monocle, it may look distinguished or silly, depending on the man who is wearing it. There are a variety of fake walrus moustaches to be found in joke shops.
The term comes from the whiskers on the upper lip of a walrus.
