Washington State Route 525 Spur , SR-525 Spur, Spur-525, or Paine Field Boulevard; is a highway in Washington State that connects Washington State Route 525 in the south with Washington State Route 526 in the north. The RoutePaine Field Boulevard / SR-525 Spur begins at a Y-Intersection with SR-525 just outside of the residential areas of Mukilteo, Washington. It then travels north about 3 miles to its terminus at SR-526. During its entire length, there are no intersections, save for the termini, and the speed limit is set at 45 Miles Per Hour. Why Build It?Paine Field Boulevard was created in 1999 to facilitate traffic flow to and from Boeing's Paine Field manufacturing facility by ensuring that it no longer interfeers with ferry traffic on SR-525 bound for Whidbey Island. Also, many people working at Paine Field live in the Mukilteo neighborhood of Harbour Pointe, and this new route allows for more direct travel between work and home. Boeing also has an engineering facility in Harbour Pointe, so the logic of a more direct route for the engineers to travel to the plant becomes apparent. It is believed that after the construction of a new multi-modial ferry terminal in Mukilteo, that a new access road will be build to the ferry connecting to SR-526 just north of SR-525 Spur's Terminus, and extended over 525 Spur to 525. It is then believed that this new route will become SR-525 and 525 Spur will cease to exist, as will SR-526 west of the new road. External links
