Waverley, New South Wales - Definition and Overview

Waverley is a suburb and local government area of Sydney, Australia, east of the central business district. Adjacent to the Pacific Ocean, Waverley Municipality has three surfing beaches: Bronte, Taramara, and the world famous Bondi Beach. The municipality is also home to most of Sydney's Jewish community.

Apart from the tourist district of Bondi Beach, Waverley Municipality has one major commercial centre, Bondi Junction. The suburb of Waverley is the highest in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and is centred on the major road junction known as Charing Cross.
