Wayson Choy (蔡韋森 Pinyin: Cài Wéisēn ; Jyutping: Coi3 Wai5-sam1) (born April 20, 1939) is a Vancouver-born Canadian writer of Chinese ancestry who spent his childhood in the Chinatown, Downtown.

He is the author of the Trillium Book Award-winning novel The Jade Peony (1995), and the memoir Paper Shadows: a Chinatown Childhood (1999), which won the Edna Staebler Creative Non-Fiction Award and was nominated for a Governor General's Award.

Choy studied creative writing at the University of British Columbia. Choy taught at Toronto's Humber College and the Humber School for Writers from 1967 to 2004, before retiring as a professor cum laude. He has been president of Cahoots Theatre Company of Toronto since 1999.

His newest novel, All That Matters, was published in 2004.
