Weesp - Definition and Overview

Weesp (population: 17,843 in 2004) is a town in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 21.88 km² (of which 1.30 km² water).

The municipality of Weesp also includes the following towns, villages and townships: De Horn, Uitermeer.

Weesp received city rights in 1355.
