What Women Want (2000) is a movie starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt about a advertising executive who has a bathroom accident which results in him acquiring the ability to hear women's thoughts, i.e. he knows "What Women Want". He then uses this to his advantage. A disadvantage is that he can hear the innermost thoughts of his daughter (Ashley Johnson), who he is raising on his own.
Alan Alda has a small role in this film.
