Wichelen is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Schellebelle, Serskamp and Wichelen proper. On January 1st, 2004 Wichelen had a total population of 11,043 (5,393 males and 5,650 females). The total area is 22.87 km² which gives a population density of 482.95 inhabitants per km².
