Wide Awake (1998) is a film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Joshua Beal, (Joseph Cross) is a young boy who goes on a search for God after his grandfather dies, in this comedy about growing up.

The film was nominated for "Best Family Feature - Drama" and "Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actor" at the 1999 Young Artist Awards.
